Home Waters

For most of us it is not waters of the same renown or quality as this, on the River Itchen in England. Crystal clear springcreeks, the standard from which came the historic ideas of Halford and Skues is not what most of us can fish on a regular basis. Fishing our home water is something we do with an ease that we have problems imitating when fishing more "prestigious" waters.

There is a lot of wonderful places out there where no means of communication work. Please be patient, we will take care of the reports along with gas, food and beer. But not necessarily in that order.

Fishing with friends and sharing the experience is the perfect thing to do some days. On other occasions you wander off in different directions and don't see or talk to each other for hours. Just the briefest of glimpses thru the trees. Then you sit down and make coffee, smoke a cigar and relish the moment. At times you need to compare notes but often enough you just recognise that you partner "caught some" and go on arguing about the best way to tie an emerging mayfly.
